Stroller Strides Family Day 2010

How cute are we??? I wore my red Stroller Strides shirt, and had Reese wear hers. Then Ryan decided that he would go for red as well. We had an awesome time together today at class, enjoyed our workout and picnic with friends. We love Stroller Strides!
*Note: Please ignore the giant bags under my eyes. I lack a normal sleep schedule therefore I am always tired.

Really GROSS but kind of funny!

This afternoon Thurman had to get a shot from the vet which of course makes him super thirsty...which then leads to super amounts of urine. Thus after being gone this afternoon at Stroller Strides I returned home to find copious amounts of dog pee. That was round one of clean up in a short amount of time.
We had a neighborhood meeting to attend tonight so I planned on cooking a quick dinner but had to call Ryan to get some Whataburger on the way home. I knew I didn't have time to cook, clean dog pee and get to the meeting on time. So he picked up dinner and made it home to eat 20 min. before the meeting.
As we're eating he tells Reese to take a bite of her burger. She had just CHUGGED a huge thing of chocolate milk. So as she is chewing her first bite he tells her to take a second bite. She had way too much in her mouth but apparently he knew better.
So I see her struggling to eat the food and she starts crying. I had her come over to me and said "If it's too much to chew just give it to me" and I cupped my hand to get her food rather than have her choke on it. So she opens her mouth to spit it out and what do I cup in my hands and what gets ALL over the floor? PUKE. Don't ask me how it happened but she literally threw up everywhere, I guess she was in the process of having too much food going down and it all came back up. So here I am with a fist full of barf, it's all over the floor, she's crying that she threw up etc. Ryan takes her over to the sick and gets her cleaned up and takes her clothes off. After that's all done he says there is puke on his shirt. Mind you this is at 6:58 and the meeting is at 7.
As he's done changing his shirt he says "Man it's been a long time since I've had puke on my shirt, that's gross". I looked at him and said "I had puke cupped in my hand"...he agreed. I won that pissing contest hands down.
As we're heading out of the house in a whirlwind he lets out a big sigh and says "The joys of parenthood" to which I responded a second time with "I had puke cupped in my hands" and reminded him that mother's always get the short end of the stick.
At least this time he was there to help me clean up and deal with the disaster. She rarely pukes but every time it has happened he hasn't been home. Glad he was able to see how much work cleaning that up can be...and let him remember who did more of the dirty work on that one.

Fabulous weather

We've been having great weather this past week. I think we've spent almost every afternoon outside. Reese discovered finger painting this week, yes I'm brave, and as always chalk is a HUGE hit. We also spent a few hours at the park across the street hanging out and playing on the cool playground over there. This is my favorite time of year in Corpus because the weather is so awesome. Too bad it can't stay like this all summer.
Reese looking like a really big girl in her baseball hat from Cape May. A great vacation spot where we spent many summers with the Schminke et. al clan.
Pushing her babies around
Stroller Strides
Once again...Reese dresses herself. Note, even mismatched socks. She has on three shirts complimented once again by the gold belt. She puts that on with everything.
Turtles at the duck pond
With "Tasty" at the duck pond
What came first the duck or the egg?
I thought there were all sitting on their eggs...turns out they were just resting.
He peeled himself away from basketball to be social...woo hoo!

Not happy about falling down

So we've had another CRAZY week in the Bading Casa. The first weekend of the month we headed to College Station for a wedding, we got home and two days later my cousin arrived with his family for the week. Three kids aged 3 and under....AHHHH! They are visiting from Belgium and came to see Corpus for a week. It was nice because no one but my family ever comes to stay at our house ( I do love when my family comes). The kids all got along pretty well and had a great time playing. Right after my cousins left Ryan's parents came to the Corpus area to camp, so we saw them while they were vacationing. We had a super fun St. Patty's Day play date today and we're hoping for a quiet two days before Leslie and Stacy arrive for yet another fun filled weekend.
Reese helped me make a loaf of Irish Soda Bread (recipe from our good friend Kate Hickey), as you can see she started the mixer but was a little too quick for me...hence the flour covering my house
Playing in the water.

I thought this pictures was too cute. I stole it from my cousin who was kind enough to upload all his photos onto my computer. Check out the muscle in her arms. Great definition Reese...keep doing your Stroller Strides work outs at home
Action shot
Playing in the sand dunes
No more pictures please!!!
I can't get enough of this kid
The water was in the 60's but when you're 2 who cares
Such a happy girl!
Yes pigtails...for 5 straight hours!
Since it was an amazingly nice day outside, I busted out the sprinkler ball and let the kiddos run around in the water.
Checking out the fish at the Texas State Aquarium

College Station trip. Thurman went to Rebecca's house and got to hang out with the Haug Family and his good friend Bailey.
(Sorry my pictures are not in chrono order)
She was so happy when we picked up the dog...she once again insisted I take a picture

How she does her own hair
Waiting in the parking lot to eat lunch

Dancing the night away with her cousin Atlee, who is 5 days older than she is.
These two wild and crazy kids had SUCH a good time together dancing and playing. I don't think either one of them stopped running all night. Reese also got to meet Baby Emery, Atlee's new baby sister. She's such a sweet baby and Reese was MORE than happy to try and attend to Emery's needs.

I know.....

I really do have a bunch of pictures to put up from the last week. I am thinking tomorrow should be the day I can get around to it. I'm just busy this week doing things I should have done a long time ago, and tell myself on a daily basis that "I'll do it today". You know little things like contacting a lawyer to set up our will, to make sure Reese goes to the right person when we die, OBVIOUSLY my sister, getting Ryan to agree to get rid of some of his clothes, and filing my taxes. All seriously important things. But I am done with all those previously mentioned tasks, so unless I find something to do tomorrow that I should have done ages ago....you'll have new pictures up soon.
I should hire an assistant to do all this busy work for me, so I can do real things like blog, finger paint with Reese and train the dog on basic commands like sit and down.

Sesame Street LIVE!

We made it through Sesame Street Live and it was a HIT! She loved every minute of it and was in total awe. I am so glad she had such a great time. For the first half of the show she sat on my lap for easier viewing pleasure, and every ten minutes or so she would just turn around give me a big smile and a great big bear hug. It was so cute, like her was of saying Thanks for taking me here. We had such a fun time.
Hanging out in her seat before the show. Even wearing her Elmo shirt.
We walked around for a while before the show started so that she didn't get too antsy in her seat. After posing for this picture she of course asked me to talk pictures of her exercising. She completed a set of mountain climbers and jumping jacks while waiting.
Playing in the seats before she show.
Horrible pic but I took it myself. Notice how I look like death. Working out twice a day will do that to you. I fell asleep at 8:15 yesterday in mid conversation with Ryan. Sad really. I slept the entire night too.
Elmo's World!!! With our friend Mr. Noodle. Another of Reese's favorite
We had aisle seats so we were greeted throughout the show by characters while they were signing and dancing. How great is it that Abby Cadabby came by and said Hi to Reese. She was so excited!
Dancing in her seat to the music
Two of her favorites: Elmo and Abby Cadabby...or as Reese says it Abby Abby

Going shopping. Tonight she also packed up her purse and told me she was going to Mexico.

Reese LOVES her some baby Ty. She was being a good little mother all day long. He rode in her old baby swing, she changed his diaper AND notice how he's wearing clothes. Usually baby Ty is naked so this is a huge step. Poor kid is desperate to have a baby sister. Every day she tells Ryan to work on his paper so he can graduate and she can have a baby sister. So sad....
She also "works" on her paper. She pulls out her Disney laptop and sits at her desk and types away. She'll tell you she's "working on her paper, so she can graduate and have a baby sister". It's bad that even Reese is nagging him to finish school.
Sorry if I repeated that whole baby sister story. I forget who I tell things to. My mind is mush sometimes from lack of use.

Is it March 2nd already?

It's been a week or so since my last post. Sorry, last week we were crazy busy and once again this week we are as well. When did we get so social? We had Chat-N-Play last week (our monthly playgroup) and all went to the pottery place. You pick a piece, paint it, then they fire it. Reese painted for 1.5 hours without stopping. She had a field day. I am sure it looks like a hot mess since she colored with about 5 different colors, all which made everything brown, but she's 2 and had a blast. I guess we'll be hitting that place up again at some point.

We headed to Kingwood last weekend for a short visit with the family. Ryan was in New Orleans attending a Bachelor Party. I am sure you can use your imagination to think of all the fun he had. Reese and I had a blast in Kingwood. Reese LOVES seeing everyone in Kingwood. I even had a mini-reunion for my friends from High School while attending the fabulous Kara Benton's baby shower. It was great to see them all.

This week I am taking Reese to ELMO 1-2-3 Imagination. It's Sesame Street Live and I told her we're going to see Elmo so hopefully she will enjoy it as much as I hope she will. It should be fun. I'll take my camera and see if she's willing to pose for any photos, I'll post at the end of the week.

Mom's Night Out...Bowling! I actually rolled a 98! These are some of my great friends that I don't think I would survive Corpus Christi without. (L to R) Brandi, Rebecca and Jennifer

(L to R) Emily and Marissa. Ella and Claire's Moms.

Reese is SUPER into dressing herself. She wears at least 4 different outfits each afternoon before she chooses what she will wear to play. As you can see this one was pj pants and an Elmo shirt. Nice accessorizing as well. Yesterday she played outside in footed-pjs.
Reese asked Ryan to take some pictures of her while she was playing with Thurman. She hates taking pictures when it's just of her, but if the dog is involved...no problems.
For the first time ever, Ryan takes a good picture. How do her bangs look? I trimmed them myself.

Can you feel the love?
This is a GREAT smile.

NOTE to my mother, bed was not made because we napped in it earlier.
