Happy Haunting!

It's hard to tell from the picture but here is my attempt at Halloween cupcakes..they are supposed to look like brains...The red velvet cupcakes make it look extra creepy

By popular Demand...

We've had an eventful week here in Corpus. Reese walked all around the basketball court today at the park we play at. Funniest damn thing was that she would stop every ten or twelve steps to clap for herself. I would figure that it's because we make sure a loud cheer-fest at the house whenever she walks around. Chewie runs to her aid whenever she falls, I suppose to make sure she is ok.
She has a new little ritual that she does ALL the time. As soon as she wakes up in the mornings or from her nap, as soon as we turn the corner into the living room she waves at Chewie with all her might. When we get home from being out the first thing she wants to do is wave to let Chewie know we're back. She sounds like she is saying "Bacca" which I think she her shortened version of the dog's name.
We are gearing up for a trip to College Station this weekend, Kingwood for the week and College Station again next weekend. Should be LOTS of fun and of course we will enjoying tailgating for the last two games of the season.
We had GREAT weather here this week. It was even in the 40's on Tuesday morning. We have spent LOTS of time outside in the afternoons and she explored the garage and driveway the other evening with Ryan.
We had spaghetti last night for dinner and allowed Reese to do it all on her own. Clearly the best idea ever was to strip her down to the diaper...Note the spaghetti in the middle of her chest
Sauce everywhere! Who knew dinner could be this fun

Leaning how to suck it up...

One of the chilly mornings here in Corpus...you can't tell in the pink but she has on pink tights in this picture. Too cute!

Waiting for the water to heat up
Waving at the dog

She was walking...this is right in the middle of a plop onto her booty

She discovered the cabinet that houses Chewie's stuff...so she pulled out the container of dog bones, as you can see she got Chewie's attention.
It's true...she really can walk on her own...still a little wobble in her step but she's working on it

the price of gas in Corpus

That's right people....$1.89 a gallon....read it and weep. I know you're jealous. Don't worry gas will go back up once the election is over...and how about that Joe McCain (John's younger brother)...calling 911 to complain about traffic. NICE...even better he tells the 911 dispatcher to "f**k off" when the operator asks him if he is really calling to complain about traffic.....AWESOME

Lots of fun!

Our weekend started off with a fun Friday night. Normally we stay home while Ryan works his high school games but we decided to take a road trip this week and watch him call a game. It was the perfect night since it was in the 70's with a cool breeze, which rarely happens in Texas...esp. since we moved to Corpus. We ventured down to Kingsville (which reminded me again why we did NOT move there) and enjoyed a Brahma football game. Ryan was head Ref and was miked up for the occasion. I think it weirded Reese out a little when he talked on the speakers. She was a little nervous when we first got there since the bands were playing, but by the second quarter she was dancing to "Gimme Some Lovin'" (a KM4B fav) and waving at the cheerleaders. I was excited because when the Brahmas scored a TD they would play the Notre Dame fight song, which is my second favorite college fight song. Sorry Aggie fans, my friends know I love the OU song.
Reese in her hoodie (thanks Andrea and Brian) ready to go to the game.
Just after talking a few steps before heading out the door.

Ryan...on the sidelines

I told him his pants are a bit snug. We always knew he was a husky boy. Bill, don't you think he needs some new pants?

Discussing a penalty flag.
Saturday we headed over to the pumpkin patch as a family for some pictures of Reese in her costume. As you can tell she made a VERY cute little lamb. I'll give credit to Ryan on this one, it was his first choice. Leslie also suggested the lamb as well so they both get props.

She was walking....

As I am typing out this post she is using the old keyboard and typing something as well. She alternates between typing and then pushing the keyboard across the tile. She getting much better at walking on her own, still a little unsteady and won't do it on her own if we are someplace she is not familiar with. We're hoping to get a couple videos of her walking on here sometime this week. I'm impressed she's doing so well at 1 year old.

Fall weather and Curious George

So today marked a "chilly" morning here in Corpus. Thank goodness we finally had some cooler weather. I got to put Reese is some warmer clothes when we went to Stroller Strides this a.m. This afternoon we made a trip to the library to see Curious George and the man in the yellow hat. His outfit left something to be desired but we liked the monkey better...well not really. See below.

Just catching up on some light reading before we head out the door.
The outfit with the sweater.

Minus the sweater

Once we saw George was next to us. Yes Ryan met us after work to partake in family fun Thursday

Before she figured out what was going on.

A few fun filled days!

We had a fun time in College Station again last weekend. Reese had a visit from Kathy and we all partied in the condo...and by partied I mean everyone was asleep by ten because we're all that cool. Reese had french toast the next day for breakfast proving that she is just like me and LOVES good (non-breakfast taco) carb meals in the mornings. French Toast rocks!

Today I'm headed off to the early voting polls to cast my ballot for President of the United States and I will not be voting for Frankenstein, I mean John McCain. Ryan is still on the fence about who he is voting for...GASP....he might not vote Republican....

The house is mildly decorated for Halloween, I would have gone more crazy however I was informed that we will not be here for Halloween this year since there is a home game the next day. I am bummed as this will be the first time we had a place where kids might come knock on the door.

Our Stroller Strides Halloween party is next week and I am dressing up. I am also making cupcakes that look like brains. I will post pics next week so you can see I am no where close to Martha Stewart.

We are working on ditching the pacifier but Princess didn't go to sleep until 10 the night before so she was a little tired. This whole staying up late thing is a new habit for Miss Thang...I blame Ryan as he likes to stay up late. I tell her if she stays up late and has bad dreams from Law and Order it's not my fault...she should go to sleep earlier.
Fun with Kathy

Sadly he knows how to correctly hold babies, apparently he just chooses not to with mine. (I think it was because he didn't like her shirt "Lil' Democrat")
Why Daddy's are in charge of bath time...and not doing hair.
I think she can be best compared to Doc from Back to the Future
Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for her Halloween get up...her shirts says "Trick or Treat"

Reese and her friend Alex

She didn't want to look at the camera as much as she wanted to slap all the pimpkins...yes pimpkins 'cause she was pimp slapping them all
Reese...shat out a pumpkin
A very sweaty Mommy after Stroller Strides (because I live at the freaking equator where it's still in the 80's and it's Oct. 21!!!) with a very happy Reese in the pumpkin patch. More pumpkin patch pictures will follow next week when Ryan braves family fun day on Saturday and spends time with the fam.

Baby needs a new pair of shoes!

It's official...Reese got her first pair of big girl shoes today. We went to the mall, got her measured and all set up in her new sneakers. She's ready to go now.....she needed wide width...she's got little fat feet

more pics

Oh another depressing loss in Aggieland...yet another game down the tubes. However we had a lovely visit as usual, got to see some friends and as always Reese was the life of the party. Well minus the fever she got on Saturday night...clearly the Aggie loss made her sick. She's all better now, got her flu shot and is back on her normal schedule. Just a few pictures to update everyone. Also some videos for your viewing pleasure.
Last weekend when we were in San Antonio, Aunt Erin was kind enough to take some FAB pictures of Reese in her tutu. IF you would like to view them feel free... http://www.erinhomann.com/ Go to proofing and the password is Reese....and if you are in the market for a tutu, I'm your girl. I made the one Reese has on and would be more than happy to sell you one made to order.

Seriously how cute is this kid?!?
Erin you are an amazing photographer...she still has spots available for her mini sessions...get your Xmas card shots done, and custom made Christmas cards with her one stop shopping. Visit her site at http://www.erinhomann.blogspot.com/ if interested. Tell her I sent you

Reese is over the hump, a few weeks ago she screamed bloody murder when we put her in the swing. She finally realized that she actually used to like it and enjoys it yet again.
Crazy ass dog. Barks EVERY time Reese and I use the swings...so I thought I would put her on it. Once again circus freak Chewie proved her fell off the circus train. She sat in my lap and didn't budge the entire time she was in the swing. I think she was going for like ten minutes. She even walked back over to go on a second time. I need to invent something like a dog swing with a motor. The dog was the most mellow animal I have ever seen after the ride on the swing.
Reese after her first haircut. I am a bad mother and did not take her picture of the event. I figured since we cut the total amount of 2 hairs (only around her ears) we would document the first real haircut when more hair is actually cut.
How do you know your pants are too big? When you bend down your ENTIRE ass hangs out of the pants. Ghetto Reese

Reese moved into her "BIG" girl car seat this past week. I had the infant seat in the house so I could wash it and put it away. Clearly I just should stop buying toys. She played in the base of the car seat for close to an hour. Climbing in and out, talking to herself and having a fine time.
Oh stickers!
So happy in the morning

PANTS...ok well they roll up to Capri pants but she's a shorty like her Mom. However it was cool enough this past week to pull out the pants. Only one day but there is hope for cooler weather in Corpus at some point.

Here's Chewie enjoying her ride.

This is just a video of Reese playing at the house...as you can see she likes to talk a lot.

Tammy talks a lot!
