What is your father doing?

We haven't really been all that busy, yet I feel like we're always doing something. Not that it's a bad thing. We've had a few play dates, hit the beach a few times and of course we've been at the pool. We certainly have had fun in the last week.
Funny story...on the way home from the beach today we needed to pick up some milk for Reese so I made the mistake of sending Ryan into Wal-mart. He had three things on his list, milk, hot dog buns and chips. He was in Wal-mart for 30 minutes. At some point I must have said "What is your father doing" and Reese repeated it the entire time Ryan was in the store. I was cracking up. So she just said that over and over again. I was about to bring Reese into Wal-mart to go hunting for Ryan...I figured after 30 minutes he must have been getting arrested or something.
Tonight at dinner she obviously did not like the choices on her plate. So she shoved them away and said (clear as a bell) "Ice Cream in the bowl please Mommy". Ryan and I were rolling because she was so forthright with her request. Later on Ryan was giving Reese a bath and I was making the grocery list. I happened to be using the phonebook under the paper for support. Reese looks at Ryan and said "Mommy orders pizza" we both about died.
She really has been coming up with the wackiest things lately...honestly I spend more time laughing at her than anything.
Oh....we're at the pool the other day...and she's walking around telling EVERYONE..."this is Reese" and then pointing to herself. She also points to me and tells people "This is Mommy". When her friend Ella showed up she did the same thing for Ella. So now everyone knows Reese and Ella at the pool. The girls have also won over all the big kids. Emily (Ella's Mom) and I have been laughing because now we have the girls at the pool who are playing with all the other kids. Reese and Ella are playing with kids around the 3rd grade and they are so happy to have the little girls to dote on.
Enough rambling..onto the pictures.

Swimming at the beach

I was loading and unloading the dryer today. As I turned to put the wet clothes into the dryer this is what I found. Climbed right in there herself like she owned the place. Happy as a clam...needless to say we discussed the dangers of hanging out in dryers after I took this picture.

Videos

On Friday I took Reese to "Jumping Bunnies" at the gym. It's 45 minutes of running around like a chicken without a head on all the gymnastics equipment...I think I was more tired than she was. She seemed to really like it but I'm way to frugal (or cheap...call it like you see it) to let her keep going. I just keep thinking about next semester's tuition for my hubby who likes school so much he wants to hold the Guiness World Record for longest amount of time in college. I guess if he held the record then at least we would have something to show for it...WE LOVE YOU RYAN! (I think my sister says it best...we tease because we love and we LOVE to tease.)
So here's a video of her with her friends at Jumping Bunnies...the second video is us at the beach on Sunday. I am working on uploading the pictures as well. I can only do so much people and lately it seems that it's so hot I can only think of doing one thing a day. I have to save my energy for the pool.

a few more from the 4th

Sorry the pics are smaller than usual. Leslie did follow through and send them. Hooray for Sister!
Loves her some MiMi

Walking out of the retirement community after a visit with G'ma and G'pa....Ignore the fact that we took her out of the house in a diaper and over sized t-shirt.

Sharing means caring...Ritz crackers and hanging out with G'pa

Outside California Pizza kitchen after lunch on Friday.

At CiCi's with the family...I know we eat a lot of pizza. I would eat it everyday if Ryan agreed to it.

Hanging out at Nan's house after Pop-pop made it back home.

Muscle-mania. She has double protection on this one. A swimsuit with built in floaters (which only made her roll around like a ball in the pool, however it was highly entertaining to watch) and then her swimmies...no way this kid is drowning

Oh there's the end cycle beep on my dishwasher. I should thank Reese tomorrow when she wakes up for running it for me. Never mind that when she hit the "delay start" button she ignored the fact that there are two plates, 4 utensils and one cup in it.

Down Sasha!

Reese can SO run away and work for the circus...she can be a lion/tiger trainer. She has the whole "down Sasha" thing memorized...

Kingwood Baby!

BUSY weekend in Kingwood. Visiting MiMi, Grampy, Chips, Aunt Leslie (the greatest Aunt EVER) and the Great-Grandparents plus swimming in the pool before 9 a.m...Joey Chesnut continues to hold the Mustard Belt Title, such great news since we LOVE Joey at Casa de Herbst. We had some unexpected things come up while in Kingwood but nothing the old Herbst clan was not able to handle. Good thing we're all on top of our game and handle anything that comes our way.
It was great fun visiting with Uncle Chips...Reese sure does have fun with him. She also got to see the BEST and OBVIOUS choice for favorite Aunt ever. As stated several times over..Reese LOVES her Aunt Leslie. We watched Saw 5 (the new Ryan/Chips/Sara tradition for the July 4th weekend)...Chips don't forget Saw 6 comes out in October. We're looking forward to our next visit back to Kingwood...whenever that may be. I know one thing I will be listening to Barney songs for four hours there, since that is a sure fire way to occupy our time. Loving the calmest dog ever....

Chips and Reese. Who wouldn't have fun when he's around.

Riding Grampy's bike

Playing...with all my old toys.
4th of July dress.
I'm working on the video montage of our visit. Reese is a singing fool lately. She's almost got all the words down to about 5 or 6 different songs. It's CRAZY. Leslie has a TON more pictures on her camera so when she sends them to me I will get them posted...hint hint Leslie...

Slightly fuzzy...wearing my shoes. I thought it was a funny picture
