pics and one long video

Sorry for the lack of posting all this week. I hosted Bunco at the house on Wednesday night so Monday and Tuesday were spent in the trenches making sure the house was spotless. Oh and Tuesday I spent the better part of the day dealing with my car battery, which had a hole in it...and then got to deal with my favorite Honda dealership ever. Thankfully the car is back in working order.
Reese got lots of Daddy time this week. We drove him to work on Tuesday when my car was dead...She went out to dinner with him while I hosted Bunco and then he took her to McDonald's to play on the play place. He swears to me he will never take her back because of the snot-nosed kids that were there. Then Thursday morning he watched her while I went to the dentist. Plus he came home early yesterday after his doctor's appointment.
It's official, Ryan is now on blood pressure medicine. It's been a long time coming but he's finally on some meds, so we're hoping his head doesn't pop off anytime soon. He was borderline Stage 2 hypertension. I think he said the Dr. all but stated "I'm amazed you're still alive".
In other news: It arrived! The BOB stroller is in our possession. Reese and I tested it out today and man is BOB a smooth ride. Reese must have been excited too. When her BFF Claire arrived to class she yelled to her "Claire I got a new stroller" I was cracking up. Here she is in her sweet new ride.
These pigtails, or piggies as Reese calls them, lasted about 2.2 seconds after this picture was snapped.
As stated last week, we had the circus themed birthday party this past Saturday. As soon as we got there the clown sent Reese into MAJOR meltdown mode. So for the first 20 minutes she screamed, cried and dug nails into Ryan and I out of sheer terror. She cooled off playing in the backyard of the birthday boy's house where she was sure the clown would not kidnap her and make her work for the carnies with their scary lobster claw hands.
After the clown departed she ventured out of the backyard and rode the merry-go-round, jumped in the moonwalk and played with the other kiddos. She even got her nose painted like a clown...despite the hated for all things clown related. She had fun, took a nice long afternoon nap and then proceeded to run around like a chicken without a head for the rest of the day. Rare shot...Me and Reese. Mind you it was 9,000 degrees on this day (and yes 9,000 is just about accurate)

Here's the latest video montage of tricks. Sorry it's a long one, trying to keep all parties satisfied with updates.

Fancy Nancy

We've had a busy week(s). Rebecca (the owner of Stroller Strides of Corpus Christi) was on vacation so we stepped up our game. Not only did we dog sit for her 110+ pound lab, we also taught a bunch of classes in her absence. It was a ton of fun and I think Reese really enjoyed having Bailey around. He is much more calm than Chewie is. We had nightly walks with the dogs and lots of doggie wrestling. When Leslie was here two weekends ago we had three dogs. That was like a three ring circus.

We were sad to see Bailey go, however I think my vacuum cleaner is thanking me for being able to take a vacation now. Of course we've still been hitting the pool, had a pizza party with friends, and this weekend we're heading to a circus themed birthday party complete with Merry-go-round. I'll be sure to post pics of that in the days to come.

Reese took a trip this past weekend with Ryan to Geronimo. Since we were dog sitting I stayed home and had about 27 hours sans baby and husband. I enjoyed a movie, and some nice quiet relaxation. Sorry no pics to post of their Daddy/Daughter get-away since Ryan was in charge of packing he didn't take a camera. From what I hear she had fun.

Ryan's getting ready to register for yet ANOTHER semester of college (will it EVER end?!?!?!?) and is getting ready to officiate some more high school football. What's that you ask, how come he is officiating when he still has school work to do? Bring that up with him, I gave up. I on the other hand I won a bet here in our home and right now am patiently awaiting the arrival of my brand new jogging stroller. I ordered the cream de la cream and am super excited to get rolling. We had a good run (no pun intended) with my Schwinn but alas we're moving up in the world. I'll be official now when I teach class, with my Stroller Strides BOB jogger. (I'll post pics when it arrives)...and now what you've all been waiting for. Reese and her new friend Bailey...he's that BIG

HUGE!

Reese riding the scooter. She's had it now for over one year (great gift from Aunt Leslie) and she still LOVES it.

Ella and Reese "running errands". Ella pushed baby Suze and Reese drove around on the scooter. Reese loves having her friend Ella over to play.

Reese's take on "Fancy Nancy"...pj's, rainboots, sunglasses and a hat. She did this all on her own this morning. I don't think she's lacking in the personality dept.

Got some good new videos to post however since I'm working on backing up all my videos and pictures before our computer dies (it's not sick but it's bound to happen at some point) I need to get back to that for now.

I'm on my game this week!

I hope the peanut gallery is happy with all the posts thus far this week.

Ok, so I can't rotate the picture. I attempted to and jacked up a bunch of things so what you see is what you get. This morning on the way to class she was using my calculator (which is the size of a cell phone) and was talking on it to everyone she knows. All of a sudden she got silent. I look back and she this...passed out with "call phone" pressed to her ear. Too cute.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Above is the video of Reese going to Stroller Strides.

Below is Reese playing at the beach with Leslie and Sean.

I know it's kind of weird that I video taped her baby monitor...but when we put her down for a nap she sang to herself for about 45 minutes. It was hilarious. So I figured I would document her madness and thought I would say it with the world

"I going Stroller Strides"

Yet another fun week....we made it back from Kingwood in time to grocery shop, clean, and do laundry before our first guest of the week arrived. Ryan's Mom came for a day to see Reese on Tuesday. We hit the pool with some friends on Thursday, and Aunt Leslie and Uncle Sean came on Friday.
Wednesday I let Reese have her stroller that goes with her baby doll. Baby Ty as she calls him, loves his stroller and Reese pushes it all over the house. As soon as I gave it to her she told me "I going Stroller Strides". She pushed the stroller all over the house and every so often would stop to do exercises. She did some squat jumps, wall sits, push ups and jumping jacks. She was making me laugh so hard. She is clearly playing attention to me when I'm teaching classes.
This evening she put Baby Ty in the stroller and told Ryan and I that she was going to run errands in Corpus Christi. I loves that she comes up with random things we say and acts like she knows exactly what she's talking about. Hell maybe she does.
Anytime someone leaves the house she says "Call when you get home"...so needless to say when Leslie and Sean were leaving today she waved her good-byes and said "Call when you get home". A regular riot...as Reese would say "I so funny"
Here she is on one of the loops she made while at Stroller Strides.
Stroller pushes....

Squats

I made her peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. She was asking for crackers as well so I just made the sandwiches on crackers and not bread. She proceeded to pull them apart and licked all the peanut butter and jelly off separately. She had the stuff up her nose when it was all said and done. This picture really doesn't do her justice.

When you wake up with hair like this I would call nap time a success

Leslie once spiked Chewie's hair...then she spiked Reese's. She asked that we put these photos on the blog together because she thought it was hilarious.

Leslie spiked her hair on the way home from the beach. Saltwater has good styling qualities to it. I think it was about 2.2 seconds after this that Reese fell asleep.

Thanks for the trains Nana and Pop-pop

Reese loves her trains

The tracks that Ryan built. We had to tell him to let Reese play.

We took Reese to the dog show this weekend. She liked looking at all the dogs but she thought the French Poodles with their wacky ass hair-do's was a bit much. Here's a family shot outside the American Bank Center after the dog show.
The video of Reese going to Stroller Strides will be up tomorrow...as long as I have time during her nap. Stay tuned...

Cousins Reunion in Kingwood!

This past week we headed to Houston to see the family. It was Pop-Pop's 85th birthday on the 1st and Nana's on the 8th. To help them celebrate and to boost their spirits I planned the ultimate surprise. We flew in my cousins Pete and James and scared the poop outta Nana and Pop-pop. Man was Nana shocked when she saw Pete walk in carrying Reese. Then when James (finally) arrived she was shocked again. Pop-Pop was glad to see the boys and everyone had a grand time. As usual I ate too much food in Kingwood...but now I'm back home so I can be better about working out and eating less. Although Nana sent me home with a box of chocolate covered graham crackers...so we'll see how long they last. I firmly believe the faster I eat them the sooner they will be out of my house.
Reese found Nana's candy jar this weekend and had about 2 dozen M&M's. Anytime someone was over there she would say "More M-e-M's please". She's a piece of work. She loved hanging out with her cousins Pete and James and had a blast entertaining the masses. Cousin Jon is over in Iraq so he was too busy to come party with us. It would have been a complete family reunion if Jon was there but alas we were one short.
Reese in her glasses. I think she looks like she's wearing "Fancy Nancy" (a book) glasses. Either way she looks cute. I'm partial though.
Calm Reese
Reese hanging out in Grampy's chair!

Ice cream and cake for Pop-Pop's 85th birthday party...it was Nana's party too since her birthday is this week...Happy 85th Nana and Pop-Pop

Family shot

Leslie titled this picture "Crazy Reese" she was jumping all over Nana's furniture and laughing hysterically. Good thing Nana didn't see her doing this...oh wait Nana would have let her jump on the furniture...
85 other times this weekend where I am actually wearing something other than running clothes and we choose to take a photo on the one day I wear them. Also...how said it it that I am so vertically challenged.
It was also great seeing Grandma and Grandpa. Always a pleasure visiting with them. They made it over to Nana and Pop-Pop's for the P-A-R-T-Y so that was a nice treat for everyone.

We're looking forward to this weekend. Leslie and Sean are coming down for a visit. This will be Sean's first time back to the house since we moved in. He's never seen it with furniture...we'll be hitting the beach and causing trouble.
