Hello and Good-bye to Dolly

"I can see clearly now the rain is gone"
Hello all! We survived Dolly, not much excitement to report, we had about 4 inches of rain on Wednesday, Ryan got to stay home from work, and we discovered our two front windows leak. All in all we made it through with nothing more than a few heavy rain showers and the wind. It was about as windy as Corpus in March, so we weren't even concerned. We're working on some more videos for Reese to entertain everyone, however my camera is beginning to hate me and is acting up, so I am trying to talk Ryan into a new one.

Reese waiting for breakfast while we watched the news about Dolly.
Reese and Jim Cantori, it's not a Hurricane without Jim Cantori
Proof Reese weathered her first storm. Also if you make this picture larger you can see she actually has two full fledged teeth
Hey a camera.....COOL!
I don't think she watched the Ring the night before, but maybe she did, hope she makes it past seven days. (Example of why I need a new camera)

Watching the rain.
Notice this picture is jacked up too....I vote new and better camera
Reese enjoys playing with the dog kennel
Brushing the teeth
She likie

She saw me feed Chewie and learned the dog food was stored under the bowl. Now she lifts the bowl up all day long.

She also LOVES splashing in the water bowl, I love the mess it makes.
Reese showing off her new talent. Who knows if she knew what I was talking about but she follows the directions well.

Reese and her tricks

I happen to LOVE breakfast for dinner. Ryan hates it. So when he is out of town I always indulge. Someone else I know likes pancakes too....She likes them A LOT Now I guess I can clean fingerprints off the glass.

Tug of war baby style

Just some videos for you to enjoy

Now this one is a RARE one...Ryan has helped with Reese's bath three times since we've moved. This video is Ryan helping his third time. He came into play at the end but she really loves when he is there, she gets so much more excited. I wish he would realize that more often.

BIG week

We had a busy week of learning so far. Reese also got a visit from her Oma who came down for the night to do some babysitting. They both enjoyed each other's company and had lots of fun. While cleaning this week Reese discovered a new found appreciation for my vacuum attachments, and spent lots of time crawling over to them to play. She finally started clapping her hands, which we've been working on for a few weeks, and apparently she enjoyed a round of patty-cake with her Oma.
Reese has enjoyed her dog this week and has been interacting with Chewie a lot more. One morning I was getting dressed and Chewie and Reese were in the bedroom with me. I looked over to discover Chewie had given Reese her paw and they were both just sitting there looking at each other and holding hands/paws. It was so cute. Tonight she crawled all over to get the ball for the dog. As soon as she got it, she would hold it up in the air as if to show Chewie is was ok to come get it. Chewie would grab it from Reese's hand and then drop it back down and the fun began all over again. They play so nicely together, I think Reese found her first best friend.
She was on the move a lot this week as well. In her travels through the office she discovered the dog kennel and our cable outlet. She loves the dog kennel. She's nutty.
She has mastered the move and is now able to sit herself up from the lying down position. It is her new favorite thing. When I put her down for her nap today she talked to herself for a little while. She seemed to be having a little too much fun in there and when I went to check on her she had not only sat up, but had pulled herself up and was bouncing up and down in her crib while holding onto the side. I spent about 30 minutes lowering the crib yet again today so we don't have any falls. She has really discovered a lot of new tricks this week and is keeping me on my toys. Sadly I think the days of my sweet baby sitting on the floor and not moving while I get things done are long gone. I suppose I will have to keep a close eye on her when she plays after Stroller Strides since she really seems to enjoy licking the floor. Like I said she's nutty.

I am glad I put in the child proof outlet plugs
Reese and her Oma
I thought this was a cute picture. We're dog sitting Kobe while Mom is visiting Grandma and Grandpa
I love licking the kennel
Tasty Tasty
HI!

Busted!
When she talks into the attachment is echoes back at her.
Yeah for dog kennels.
Tennis Balls rule!

This is Reese and her version of crawling. It's not too long because she discovered the door mat in the process. Enjoy!

I love this kiddo

Reese has been working hard on her army crawl, think pulling yourself on your elbows through the mud, and she LOVES licking my tile floor. I guess I am going to clean it once a day in her favorite spot. She also has a fascination with the vacuum and it's attachments. It gets her moving so whatever works.
Standing up, thinking I'm sure, about how she can get to that dog. It should be noted that Kobe is very good about keeping her guarded. He's been caught in her room a few times after we close the door when she is sleeping. We eventually find him. However once she gets close to him to pet him, he bolts. It's the funniest thing. She tries desperately to pet him and he is scared to death.
Still looking at the dog. She is getting pretty good at saying "dog" or at least some sounds that resemble dog, to the point I know what she is saying.
A lady in HEB told me this outfit looked a lot like Dorothy's outfit from the Wizard of Oz.
trying to pull herself up

Reese attended her first birthday party on Saturday (note: we would have attended her one main man Brock's party last month but alas we got hosed on that one) She enjoyed playing with her many "boy"friends and helped Alex celebrate the big "1".
Sitting with Ethan while Kegan shares nicely with them.
Reese's three friends in the pool o' balls. Kegan (with the ball in front of his face) has been riding with us to Stroller Strides in the morning (we're conserving gas and being green) and now that we've been doing it for a few weeks the kiddos are just so happy to be in the car together. Reese and Kegan have held hands a few times when they first get in the car together and then it's chatty time in the back seat. Who knows if they understand the other but man they chat up a storm. It's very sweet...Kegan has also mastered saying Reese and he says it as soon as he gets in the car.
Reese loves the balls...haha if you went there shame on you and your dirty mind.
Well she did not get this idea from me. She's playing with a tackle box. Sorry to say this Reese but I will NOT be taking you fishing.

standing again, her new favorite activity
We FINALLY have enough hair to put a bow in. Yeah for hair bows!
Before we left for the party, she was so excited about being at the party she peed in her pants...no really she did.
Pebbles and her bow
Some more play time in the pool o' balls with Alex.

Finally back from our travels

We made it back from our stay in Houston. 11 days in Kingwood having fun with Mimi, Grampy, Uncle Chips, Leslie, Kathy, Sean, Nana, Pop-Pop, MB & Patric...what more could a baby ask for...I know, a second tooth. Things are moving along nicely in the tooth department, her second one has busted through. We had a few days of having a runny nose...but she handled it very well and took it like a champ. Reese enjoyed lots of flour tortillas and had a few bites of a banana muffin this a.m.
She had a blast in the pool every afternoon, is working on saying "dog" and has figured out how to do raspberries with her mouth. She likes that a lot. She'll hopefully be crawling by next week, she's really working hard on that right now. She has her 9 month check up tomorrow afternoon so I will let everyone know her weight and height. She's working on training for her first competitive eating event and hoping to qualify for the Nathan's Famous Contest next 4th of July. Reese is also ready to travel the world, her passport came in a week after we sent off for it. Mexico here we come. Enjoy the pictures...I will post some funny videos tomorrow but for now I must change out the laundry. Boring....
I LOVE Competitive Eating!
I think Reese wants the walker to aid in her escape
She doesn't match because her Daddy got her dressed but really why does she like playing with her head in the basket

Ready for her first National Hot Dog Eating Contest viewing session
Another example of Ryan sucking at taking pictures

Chewie leaned in close and said..."they used to spike my hair....then they wrapped me in X-mas lights...beware of the holiday season"

Reese on her 9 month birthday....yeah we're white trash
9 months old...hard to believe I shat her out of my womb and we both survived
Reese investigating Chips
Uncle Chips telling Reese the ways of the world. This is Reese's favorite by far.
The sign Reese held during the hot dog eating contest...she had a Mohawk

I don't know why I buy toys...Reese ready to go over Niagara Falls in her laundry basket
