3 new videos

Reese has been having a blast lately in her Jumperoo. I usually put her in this after her nap when she has the most energy.

The screams are only Reese's new way of letting us know she's having a good time. This morning she even did the screaming business while I was running with the group.

Reese's new trick...she really likes this game.

***Grandma...these three are all videos, so turn up the volume on your computer and click the middle of the pictures on each one and the video will play. I figured I would put the instructions ahead of time. :)

A busy weekend

We had a pretty busy weekend. We headed off towards wacko Waco on Friday for Ryan's cousin Justin's wedding. We stopped in Moody first so Ryan could make it a work trip. Reese and I played in the car and I taught her how to honk the truck horn while Ryan walked around in the sorghum field for 30 minutes. After that we headed to Waco and attended the rehearsal and dinner with some of the family. I got to spend time with the super fun and always enjoyable Erin and also with the other Erin, who is going to be marrying our friend BJ in June. Friday night Reese wasn't too happy of a camper to be off her schedule but she was better by Saturday.
Saturday we had some family bonding time in the morning and over lunch, I say family because we are a nice little family of three (my other child Chewie is in Kingwood apparently standing at the top of the stairs and barking to prevent Kobe or Dusty from coming upstairs. Apparently she's the new law in town). While Ryan was at the Church, I was at the hotel with Reese getting us both ready for the wedding I allowed Reese to have a special treat. I don't usually let her watch TV, however Sixteen Candles was on and I figured since we were out of town and she was playing with her toys I would let her listen. It is a classic.
The wedding was really nice, Reese spent time with her Oma and slept on her shoulder, so Ryan and I had time to dance. It was a fun weekend, nice to get away and spend time with Ryan and Reese.
Ryan was impressed because for the six hours on Friday and five yesterday I was awake the whole time in the car (I think that's a record). On a side note, we stopped for lunch and just got some Burger King. It had been three years since I had it last and Reese was sleeping so we needed something quick. I just have to say flame broiled is no joke. The thing was steaming when I opened the wrapper and when I laid it on my leg to put ketchup on it I think I got a 3rd degree burn. Ryan and I were both shocked and have never had a burger that hot in our lives. We're thinking of suing BK for the hot circle on my leg....hell everyone else sues why not us.
We made it safely home and Ryan went upstairs in the attic to hunt squirrel. I barricaded myself in the room with Reese. Yes folks, a little squirrel friend must have known Chewie is on vacation, as it has made a home in our attic. Ryan fixed the hole, temporarily, in case he's still up there, but we're pretty sure he was outside when we started fixing it. We'll see. Here are some pictures from this weekend. Enjoy!

Atlee and Reese played nicely and quietly in the back of the Church while everyone else in the wedding party practiced for the big day. Then I was not being a good babysitter, shortly after this shot Atlee went down and landed on the yellow block behind Reese...then he cried...it was all my fault. Ryan always says I should win the Mother of the Year award.
Atlee wears shoes, Reese throws up apricots on her clothes
Nice Reese, real nice. Right before this Atlee held Reese's hand, she returned the favor by trying to pull and eat his hair. I guess she figured since he landed on her leg he was fair game. Why not right?
My handsome husband at the Church
Sorry Mom (Celie) Reese wasn't happy without the pacifier so we had to leave it in.
Erin, the best, most talented, hard working photographer I know, put down the camera long enough to dance with her husband. Jason's real cute, I told him on the way to the Church that I really liked his wife and was glad he married her so we could be friends (even though they were married before Ryan and I started dating) he told he "I'm pretty fond of her too" I just thought it was cute.
first dance
The happy couple with Oma and Opa
Reese and her second cousin Kyndall...whenever Kyndall sees Reese she always says her name. It's real cute because she says it like...Reeeeeeeese

If you didn't know any better you'd think I was preggers again. Good news for shoppers I'm NOT. The side profile of this dress was not as flattering as looking at it from the front. The Bading clan (with one Williams...soon to be Bading)
Reese's first time two-steppin'. I made Ryan take her, I think he felt weird but he was a good sport about it.
Reese and her Daddy
Reese and her Mommy
Jill...next time I take your picture you need to look slightly more entertained! (since I know you read my blog) Three friends from college. Jason is going to be 29 this week...old fart!

A much needed picture update

Word on street is Aunt Darlene wants pictures from Sandfest '08 and the family in the Gulf of Mexico. So here is a long picture update to calm the fans. They are not really in order because dumb blogger makes me crazy so work with me on this one.

Reese's new hair clip, I'm on the fence about the new look but when babies are bald everyone assumes they're boys!

Reese loves her Mommy!
Bad lighting...but the spike is on!
A long day at the beach calls for a Happy Hour drink!
Her new mini skirt from Grandma and Grandpa!

I admit I need some new clothes...not a good look for me..but I can honestly say I bought new clothes today since I am one pound away from pre-pregnancy weight...but a few more from my goal.
Ladies and Gentlemen...a rare moment in Bading family history...Ryan spending time with his child...it doesn't happen very often because "he's so busy"

She's a little short for her weight. Happens to the best of us.

Love the socks...thanks MB

As of Friday it's official...

Reese got her first tooth on Friday morning. I thought I saw something working on Thursday but he busted on through sometime during the night. I was grocery shopping on Friday and saw the little devil in her mouth...and last night that tooth must have been in full swing because the lovely Miss Reese was not a happy camper and kept her tired mother up from 1:45 a.m. until about 4....but this is probably one of many sleepless nights we'll have during the teething process. I will attempt to post a picture sometime in the next day or so...but Friday was her big tooth day.
This weekend she's been enjoying spending time with her Mimi, Grampy and AL(Aunt Leslie). It was nice to go to the mall and not have to push a stroller. AL pushed her around the mall, I felt a little weird not being fully responsible but it was a nice break. We're off to the beach tomorrow and planning on going to the sand castle contest so hopefully we can get some fun pictures of some pretty cool sand castles.

6 month dr. appointment

Well after a VERY long afternoon in the dr.'s office (the health care system needs a BIG overhaul) we finally got Reese's shots taken care of and got her current stats. Just as I suspected she's healthy and very full of energy. The doctor rolled her over on her belly to show me how to try and get her to practice crawling...needless to say he efforts failed as she was very content to just lay there and tear up the paper on the table. What can I say the kid loves paper.
She weighed 16 lbs and 11 oz...and was 25.5 inches long. Just as we suspected she's short for her weight. She's a little husky just like her Dad...I shall call her Huskette. She was a trooper and got three shots, only screamed for a second and as soon as it was over she played with the nurse like they were best friends (even though we all know who is really her best friend...Chewbaby).
Other than that she was a healthy kid, not problems to report and hopefully we won't have to go back to see him until she's 9 months old. Keep your fingers crossed that she doesn't get sick, despite all the kids in the office who were there because they were sick and whose mothers could have cared less that they were coughing all over the healthy babies and not covering their mouth. Manners people really...they are not hard to teach.

The smell of VICTORY!

As many of you know I don't really like sports (of any kind). I would much rather be watching some trash on MTV, because honestly they great trash on MTV. Ryan on the other hand, eats, sleeps, and pisses sports. Every year we do an NCAA bracket and it becomes a very competitive game in our house. Ryan likes it because he usually wins based on the fact that I pick teams for their names and if the have fun mascots.
I smoked him this year. Not only did I pick the NCAA winner, but I predicted the final game and he didn't even come close. He picked North Carolina and UCLA with UCLA winning. According to ESPN, where we set our bracket up, I beat his sorry butt by 170 points. He conceded in the appropriate fashion and admitted that even though I know nothing about sports I am clearly better than he is. Ah the smell of victory...

Our weekend trip

This past weekend we went to San Antonio to visit with Reese's cousin/friend Atlee and then headed to Geronimo to visit with her Oma and Opa. She had a long weekend, devoid of many naps, so I was very glad to have a silent car ride home while she slept soundly in the backseat. We took some pictures of the babies in the bluebonnets (sorry I didn't have my camera), and Ryan's cousin Jason was kind enough to supervise the sleeping babies so Erin and I could enjoy a movie. It was nice to get out of the house sans baby for a little while. Reese enjoyed her visit to Geronimo and played in the grass for a little while with her dog on Saturday afternoon. There are some pictures of the babies playing at their Great-Oma's house on Sunday and a few of Reese playing at her Oma and Opa's house on Saturday.

How'd you do that?

Both babies love their hands.

Artistic...it probably looks better from the angle Erin had...

You can tell they like each other. I know I post pictures like this a lot but I think it's so sweet

Clearly they are enthralled that the have someone to play with.

picture update

Come back Ralphie come back...Chewie left the blanket and Reese was just checking on where she was going
I let her play in her high chair...she LOVES this silly bowl but it makes for a great hat.

Big girls use sippy cups...we're still working on it but she's getting the hang of it.

Wanna play?

Officially six months old!

6 months old!

Reese was officially six months old today at 1:45 p.m. Pretty crazy to think that I have managed to keep her alive and well for half a year. She had a pretty good day today, she tried drinking out of her sippy cup, after trying to use it like a bottle she finally got the hang of it and was sipping on some very watered down apple juice by dinner time. She's getting to be such a big girl. We're still working on sitting up and staying up for long periods of time. She played with Chewie for a while today and had fun until Chewie started barking and made her cry...what else is new.
I left Reese home with her Dad while I ran to Wal-Mart after dinner...gotta love the guy because he tries but now I see why I can't leave him home alone with her. He was in charge of putting her to bed tonight. He accomplished that, but failed to remember that she has to go to sleep in her PJs, so as I write this she is sleeping in her clothes from today. Ryan told me that he at least remembered to change her diaper. I can't believe he has forgotten so much since November when he stayed home with her for an entire month.
I'll post some pictures of Reese tomorrow for everyone to see.
