Brynn’s 2nd Birthday!

On Sept. 8th Brynn turned 2! It’s crazy to think she’s not a baby anymore (although I probably still baby her too much).  We celebrated on the 7th since Ryan was leaving for a week long road trip on the 8th.

Leslie decided on a last minute trip to Corpus. The girls were so excited to see her and we had fun on Friday night making cakes, and watching Full House. I used to watch countless episodes of Full House on TGIF with Leslie in my parents bed while we were little. It was fun watching it with her again along with both my girls (sadly I still know what is going to happen in every episode).

After the girls went to bed we made lots of buttercream and peanut butter buttercream icing. Yes, you read that correctly, peanut butter buttercream icing. It’s life changing, in the way where it’s so addicting you don’t realize how much you ate until you feel like death the next morning, but it was so good that you wait all day to eat the cake that has said frosting on it. It’s probably something I would ask to be included in my death row meal (not that I plan on having that happen).

001 Said peanut butter buttercream icing. The color was prefect for Mickey’s face. We just had to make different colors for the mouth and ears. OMG was that cake good. Oh and it was a peanut butter cake too. Life changing!

On Saturday afternoon Marlu and Roger came over to help Brynn celebrate her birthday. We cooked lunch, opened presents and had our first cake of the day. A GREAT cookie cake with buttercream icing (just regular). It was a huge hit. Leslie and Ryan voted it number 1. So dang good. I hit two baking homeruns on those.

After everyone took naps, or maybe just Leslie and I, we ate dinner and then our great neighbors The Fergusons came over. Brynn and Reese LOVE Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson. Ryan and I do too. It’s great having neighbors you enjoy. They joined us for cake and football.

On Sunday, her actual birthday, it rained off and on, so we stayed home and played. After dinner I got out the small piece of cake that was left (Mickey’s ear) and let the girls have it. We sang Happy Birthday one more time and had Brynn blow out some more candles. Brynn must think it’s her birthday everyday!

Brynn had her 2 year check up this a.m. She’s once again topping the carts of height. She is in the 90% for other kids her age and in the 75% for weight. Reese better quit picking on her now, because Brynn is about to be bigger than Reese and I think that will be sooner than later.

We are off to College Station this weekend for the BIG ‘Bama game. We’re not actually going to the game but we are going to be tailgating and Uncle Bill is coming in for the big game as well. Mom and I will probably take the girls back to the condo to watch the game, as Kong would probably run all over campus with me chasing after her. We’ll have yet another cake this weekend to celebrate Brynn’s birthday one more time.

I can’t wait to be back in Aggieland! It’s really one of my most favorite places in the world, even on a game weekend with a million people there.
