We had a busy end of October. We hit up the pumpkin patch, which was nice, but I will be honest, it would have been nicer if it wasn’t 90 degrees outside when we went. To say I am over the heat is an understatement. Fall needs to hurry up and come to South Texas soon and stay.
Between Brynn being serious and Reese being more concerned with the surroundings it has become impossible to take pictures lately.
Brynn’s normal reaction when she can’t touch some part of me. You should have heard the screaming last week when our dryer was broken and I went outside to get things off our makeshift illegal clothesline. She’d stand at the back door screaming like someone cut off her arm until I came back in, yet she was inside with Reese and Ryan. She’s a mamma’s baby, but loves to run with Reese outside when Ryan comes home from work!
The last weekend of the month we were greeted by an amazing cold front (it only last two days) but it happened to be the morning of the Run Amuck. I signed up to do a 5K with very muddy obstacles. It was freezing that morning. It was in the low 50’s with a VERY cold and VERY strong wind. The mud was warmer than the outside temp. Ryan and the girls were troopers and came out to watch me and a few of my Stroller Strides Moms run in the cold weather.
Start linesecond trench of mudgirls all bundled upcoming into the home stretch
last LONG mud obstacle. Crawl army style through 100 linear feet of mud under nets
My friend Jana and I…who wants a HUG??? Somehow, despite the cold temps, getting sprayed with ice cold water along the course, monkey bars, zombies and muddy obstacles I had a great finish time, finishing 13th in my age group out of 96 women!
For Halloween at Reese’s school they had pajama day. Before she left for school she and Brynn were wearing the same pj’s…too cute!
Mary had a little lamb. Happy Halloween 2012! Reese had a great time, leading the pack of neighborhood friends to all the front doors, and then taking off and running to the next door. Brynn followed with me in the wagon and was so happy watching everything take place.
Reese, who is also longing for cooler weather, chose this outfit to play in outside when it was 88 degrees the other day. I caught her sitting down for 4 seconds and she looked so sweet. After she saw me take the picture she insisted that she pose. God help us when she’s 15!
