Beach fun (twice in one week)

We’ve had a busy month in July, from swimming at the pool almost everyday, to hitting the beach a few times and of course dance class, Stroller Strides and the usual daily grind.

Reese and I have also been purging the house of crap to make room for “new baby”. She’s been very helpful in getting things organized, put into the donation pile etc. It’s more than I can say for Ryan who has still continued to find anyway possible to avoid throwing out any of this worthless, I mean worldly possessions. You never know how many stacks of 2008 rules handbooks you need to referee football in 2011. While Reese and I purge, he finds places to relocate other items to avoid having to get rid of his things.

Mimi, Grampy and Cousin Nicole (from Belgium) came for a visit last week and we hit the beach one morning. We also got the treat of having Dairy Queen Blizzards both nights they were here. Nothing cools down a fat pregnant lady like a nice cold ice cream.  At this point in the heat I would be content on eating nothing but ice cream but I don’t buy it on purpose because I’m big enough without the help of Blue Bell. On Saturday we went to the beach with Ryan and met some friends of ours and their son. Jack and Reese are very friendly and anytime they are together they have a blast. They also fight like brother and sister and regularly wrestle each other like they are in the WWF. Ryan had never seen the wrestling matches and was shocked at how crazy they are together. Jack’s mom Tanya brought along a TON of sand toys and two boogie boards. Reese had never boogie boarded before but it’s clear we have a natural on our hands. She strapped the ankle strap on, and road in wave after wave without falling off or getting tired at all. She would ride in one, and just turn her head to see when the next one was coming. We’re buying her a board next time we go to the beach because she was enjoying it so much.

We hope we only have one more long month of extreme heat to deal with…at least the time I have of being pregnant in the summer is almost done. It’s brutal (as I sit under the ceiling fan to type this, while the tower fan is blasting cold air directly at me as well, all while the a/c is running).
